Tournament Champions
Plantation Golf & Country Club – May 17, 2026
It was a sunny and warm Florida morning for our third event of the 2026 season. We had 43 players come out to take on the challenge of this difficult golf course. Despite a short lightning delay that caused a fire nearby, we crowned seven winners! Highlights of the day included:
- Division 1: In our top division, the competition was very strong! Kipper House kept up his hot play with a -4 32 on the front! Hot on his heels though were EspnPool (-2), Jeff Simpson (-1), Gage Basiletti (even), and Pierson Gill (+1). The back proved to be the tougher side for this group. Basiletti carded a +1 on the back and Simpson shot +2, with both finishing at +1 for the day. It was not enough though, as Pool also fired a +1 on the back for a -1 (71) for the 2-shot victory!
- Division 2: This one was close most of the way, with Danny Magruder and Trent Bell leading after 9 with +3 (39), with Chris Scott lurking just 2 back at 41. On the back, Magruder led most of the way, but Bell was able to be more consistent down the stretch and held on for a 2-shot victory!
- Division 3: In this division, Rick Kaczmarczyk and Mike Steele both fired a 45 on the front to take a 2-shot lead on Ryan Sherwood and Mark Howard. Once again, the back proved to be the tougher challenge, except for Mike Steele! He improved by 3 shots o the back and took home the win with an 87. Kaczmarczyk would shoot 1-shot higher and Sherwood would improve by 3 on the back and they tied for second.
- Division 4: Dan Wojcik shot a 42 on the front and took a 3-shot lead over Dave Davis, and Andy Halek. On the back, John Oursler wanted to get into the mix and fired a 43 to jump up the leaderboard. Davis would match Oursler’s 43 on the back, and with Wojcik having some untimely bad holes, Davis was able to move past him for the win.
- Division 5: This was the Quinton Allen show! Allen jumped out to a 4-shot lead over Kevin Finn and 5 over Greg Gastfield, and Mike Bushee on the front nine. Allen fired a 44 on the back, and Finn was unable to keep up, giving Allen the win!
- Mid-Am Net: Kipper House took the early lead in this one, but Quinton Allen was just 1-shot back, and Gage Basiletti was lurking just 3-shots back after the front nine. The back nine was all Allen! He matched his front 33 with another 33 and won with a -6. Gage Basiletti was second at even!
- Senior Net: Dan Wojcik jumped out to a 4-shot lead on the front over Andy Halek. On the back, Mike Steele and John Oursler would shoot even par to jump up the leaderboard with Steele finishing solo second. Wojcik would hold on for the 2-shot victory!
A huge thank you goes out to Julie Edgar and the entire staff at Plantation for having the course in great shape and ready for our competition. They also did a great job helping us to navigate the lightning and finish quickly once it left the area.
Our next event is at Heron Creek Golf & Country Club (Creek and Oaks nines) in North Port, on Sunday, May 31. Remember, the more players we get, the bigger the payouts! Sign up now for your spot to play! Registration closes on May 26!
