Ridges at Village Creek Delivers a Father’s Day Weekend Challenge
The Amateur Players Tour Memphis Chapter made the trip west to Wynne, Arkansas, on Saturday, June 20, for the Ridges at Village Creek. With Father’s Day weekend providing the backdrop, players from both the Memphis and Arkansas chapters gathered for a competitive day on one of the region’s most demanding layouts.
Known for its rolling terrain, elevation changes, and challenging green complexes, Village Creek tested every part of a player’s game. Those who managed the course effectively separated themselves from the field, while others found the Arkansas layout more than willing to punish mistakes.
Division 1
Edward McDugle turned in one of the best rounds of the day, capturing the Division 1 title with a 74 (+2). McDugle held a comfortable five-shot advantage over Jeremy Jean-Marie, who finished runner-up at 79 (+7). Braden Beverage claimed third place with an 80 (+8), while Brandon Swords rounded out the division at 82 (+10).

Arkansas player Cain Newcomb secured third place at 86 (+14), while Triton Schamber finished fourth with an 87 (+15).
A four-way tie for fifth included Jody Braud, Brian Buchanan, Jon Sylvester, and Dylan Schlauch, highlighting the depth of competition throughout the division.
Division 4
Landon Mannion represented the Arkansas Chapter well, taking home the Division 4 title with an impressive 85 (+13). Marshall Dean finished second at 89 (+17), while Douglas Fleming and Larry Brewer shared third place after posting rounds of 92 (+20).
Division 5
Tucker Watts captured the Division 5 championship after carding an 88 (+16), finishing five shots clear of the nearest challengers. Joshua T. Warren and Bobby Williams shared second place with matching rounds of 93 (+21). Gregg Epps finished fourth at 97 (+25), while Rodney Gillentine and Tony Ethridge tied for fifth at 100 (+28).
Senior Net Side Game
The optional Senior Net competition produced one of the day’s closest finishes. Iceman Clark, Edward McDugle, and Gregg Epps all finished tied atop the leaderboard at 73 (+1), sharing Senior Net honors after excellent rounds. Bobby Williams finished fourth at 75 (+3), while Douglas Fleming rounded out the top five at 76 (+4).
Mid-Am Net Side Game
Kyle Kucharski added another trophy-worthy performance by winning the optional Mid-Am Net competition with a round of 74 (+2). Steven Walkley finished second at 81 (+9), while Dylan Schlauch secured third place at 82 (+10). Arthur Miller Jr. finished fourth at 84 (+12), followed by Kevin Brown in fifth.
Looking Ahead
The summer schedule continues next month as the Amateur Players Tour Memphis Chapter heads back to one of its most popular venues, Tunica National Golf & Tennis in Tunica, Mississippi, for a two-day event on July 18-19.
The field is already shaping up to be one of the strongest of the season, with players currently registered from not only the Memphis and Arkansas chapters, but also the St. Louis and Kentucky chapters. With competitors traveling in from multiple regions, players can expect deeper fields, tougher competition, and valuable Player of the Year points on the line.
Tunica National has long been a favorite stop on the schedule, offering championship-caliber conditions, risk-reward opportunities, and a layout capable of producing both low scores and dramatic finishes. As the season enters the heart of summer, every stroke becomes increasingly important for those chasing division titles, North American Championship qualification, and Player of the Year honors.
Registration remains open, but spots are filling quickly. If the early signups are any indication, the July stop at Tunica National promises to be one of the premier events of the 2026 Memphis Chapter season.
