The 2026 APT Memphis season reached its biggest local stage on Saturday, August 29, at Fair Oaks Golf Club in Oakland, Tennessee, as players competed in the Memphis Local Finals. With elevated Player of the Year points on the line, there was plenty to play for as the chapter closed out its 2026 points race.
The day featured some outstanding golf, including two under-par rounds, a dominant Division 2 performance, and several players making one final push up the standings.
Division 1
Edward McDugle put an exclamation point on an outstanding season, firing a 2-under 70 to win Division 1 by three shots. Luke Smith finished runner-up with a 73 (+1), while Jeff Dickey and Brandon Gurley tied for third at 76.
The victory capped a dominant Player of the Year campaign for McDugle, who finished the season atop Division 1 with 4,550 points. Luke Smith finished second with 1,607.50, followed by Spencer Cultra in third.

Division 2
Kyle Kucharski saved one of his best rounds for the Local Finals, shooting even-par 72 and cruising to a four-shot victory.
Alexis Ruprecht and Jeff Avant tied for second at 76 (+4), while Howell Evans, Kevin Connolly and Paul Luker shared fourth at 77.
Despite Kucharski’s big win at Fair Oaks, Jeff Avant’s season-long performance earned him the Division 2 Player of the Year title with 2,434.25 points. Kucharski finished second with 1,739.23, with Jon Sylvester third at 1,646.52 and Paul Luker fourth at 1,576.94.

Division 3
Tyler Byrd came through with a strong 79 (+7) to claim the Division 3 Local Finals championship.
David Foshee and Kenny Swann tied for second at 81 (+9). William Frogge, Neil Adams, Iceman Clark and Ken Grisham all finished at 83 (+11) in a four-way tie for fourth.
The season-long Division 3 race belonged to Jon Sylvester, who accumulated 1,543.50 points to capture Player of the Year honors. Iceman Clark finished second with 1,166.40, followed by Kyle Kucharski at 973.80.

Division 4
After finishing just one stroke behind Steven Walkley at Kirkwood National, Marshall Dean flipped the script at Fair Oaks.
Dean posted an 85 (+13) to win the Local Finals by two strokes. Walkley and Dandy Barawid tied for second with 87s, while Timothy Kelley finished fourth with an 88.
The victory was a fitting finish to Dean’s season as he also secured the Division 4 Player of the Year championship with 759.64 points. Walkley finished second at 505.10, while Barawid finished third with 219.70.

Division 5
Arkansas’ Bobby Williams came to Fair Oaks and captured the Division 5 Local Finals title with an 87 (+15).
Tucker Watts finished just one stroke back with an 88, while Rodney Gillentine and Gerrald Tate tied for third with 96s. Michael Kelly rounded out the top five with a 99.
Kelly’s fifth-place finish was enough to complete an excellent season that included multiple victories and earn the Division 5 Player of the Year title with 209.25 points. Tucker Watts finished second with 147.25, followed by Steven Walkley at 138.

Mid-Am Net
Kyle Kucharski wasn’t finished after winning Division 2. He turned in an outstanding net 64 (-8) to capture the Mid-Am Net title by five shots.
Tyler Byrd finished second with a net 69 (-3), while Steven Walkley was third at 73 (+1).
Kucharski’s victory also helped secure the Mid-Am Net Player of the Year championship, finishing the season with 350 points ahead of Walkley’s 267.45.

Senior Net
The Senior Net competition produced another excellent round as William Frogge fired a net 67 (-5) to take the Local Finals title.
Kevin Connolly finished just one shot behind with a 68 (-4), and Edward McDugle added a third-place finish with a net 69 (-3). Bobby Williams and Ken Grisham tied for fourth at even-par 72.
The Senior Net Player of the Year race went to Edward McDugle, who finished the season with 376.88 points, edging Ken Grisham’s 329.92. Iceman Clark finished third with 280.15.
