Tournament Champions
Amateur Players Tour Oklahoma City brought 43 players to Lake Hefner Golf Club’s north course under near-perfect conditions. Some chased their first APT win, others their second—and some aimed for back-to-back titles after claiming May’s Battle at the Territory. Several first-timers joined the field to experience their first APT tournament.
Competition spanned five divisions, with winners posting scores from 2-under par in Division 1 to 12-over in Division 5. Low scoring reflected ideal weather and course conditions.
Players continue building momentum toward the Rhino Roofing Player of the Year title and its $750 Visa Gift Card.
Division 1
Gossett ends drought with closing with a 3 under 33 on the back 9
Five players teed off Sunday chasing the trophy and Rhino Roofing Player of the Year points at Lake Hefner. Conner Compton, fresh off a win at the elevated APT Masters at Kickingbird and victorious in two of three starts this season, stumbled early with a 4-over start through five holes. Birdies on 7 and 8 steadied him to a 2-over 38 on the front nine. Scott Fees, the South course champion looking to sweep Lake Hefner, opened with bogeys on 2 and 3 before firing birdies on 4, 6, and 7 to turn in 1-under 35. Taylor Gossett—a three-time winner this season and 14-time tour champion—battled to 1-over 37 on the front after bogeys on 2, 4, and 8 offset birdies on 5 and 7. Compton birdied 11 but faded down the stretch, finishing with 78. Gossett’s birdie on 11, combined with back-to-back Fees bogeys on 10 and 11, gave Gossett a one-shot lead. Both players bogeyed 12, then traded two birdies apiece to keep Gossett one ahead through 16. Fees closed with consecutive bogeys for a 2-over 74. Gossett sealed it with a birdie on 18, carding 2-under 70 to end a two-month winless streak.
Division 2
Richard Claims Back-to-Back Wins with a 2 under 34 on the back 9
Seven players—six of them tour winners—teed off in D2, and the front nine stayed bunched.
John Behrend and Jordan Wesley led the way out with matching 3-over 39s. One back, Rob Richard, Joe Robinson, Keith Tilghman, and new member James Elliott all posted 4-over 40s. Kirk Washburn turned in 41, two off the pace. Tilghman mixed three bogeys with two birdies on the back for 37 and a 77 total. Richard opened the inward nine with birdies on 10 and 11, pulling even with Wesley, who bogeyed 10 and birdied 11. The two traded six straight pars down the stretch. Richard parred 18 to post 2-over 74 in the clubhouse. Robinson, who bogeyed 10 and 12, looked out of it before heating up with birdies on 15 and 16 to close within two. Playing alongside Wesley, Robinson needed eagle on the par-5 18th to win; Wesley needed birdie. Robinson’s eagle attempt slid past the cup, and he tapped in for birdie. Wesley bogeyed. Both finished 3-over 75, one shot back. Richard secured his second straight victory after winning the Battle at The Territory.

Asbury Claims First APT Win with his Tour-Best 77
Nine players took on the North course at Lake Hefner Golf Club, including Erik Asbury, making his first trip to play in the OKC APT, after joining the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter in July 2025.
Asbury birdied the 2nd but gave back strokes on 3, 4, 7, and 8 to turn in 3-over 39, one ahead of Darrin Stewart, the 2026 Player of the Year. Two back stood tour veterans Michael Foster and Stan Wilson alongside newcomer Matthew Reynolds, playing his first event. Foster and Wilson both stumbled to 7-over 43 on the back for matching 84s. Reynolds posted 45 coming home to finish at 86. Randy Miller, who turned in 42 on the front 9, birdied 11 to pull into a second-place tie with Stewart. Miller went 4-over in the next four holes to reach 9-over through 15. Stewart bogeyed 13, 14, 16, and 17 to stand 8-over heading to 18. Miller birdied the last hole, Stewart parred, and both carded 80. Asbury bogeyed 15 and 17 to reach 4-over with a four-shot cushion. A closing bogey still gave him the trophy at 5-over 77—his best score since joining the DFW Chapter.
Division 4
Brill Wins First APT Title in Sudden Death
Thirteen players—the tournament’s biggest field—teed off with scores tightly bunched through the front nine. Ryan Miller and Roger Dollins of the Tulsa Chapter led at 4-over 40. One back stood Josh Hardin, Mike Adcock, David Stinnett, and Connor Boyd at 5-over 41. John Brill, Bill Chilson, and new member John Hahn turned in 6-over 42, two off the pace.
Dollins and Stinnett finished at 82. Hahn and Adcock posted 83. Hardin carded 84, followed by Rodney Woodard and Chilson at 85. Miller, one of the front-nine leaders, double-bogeyed 10 and bogeyed 11 before bouncing back with birdies on 12 and 13 to reach 5-over through 13. Boyd bogeyed 12 and 13 to stand 7-over, two back of Miller. Brill, who turned at 6-over, bogeyed 11 and 13 to reach 8-over after 13 holes. Miller couldn’t hold on, dropping shots on 15, 16, and 17 before parring 18 for 8-over 80. Boyd birdied 15, bogeyed 16 and 17, and parred 18 for a matching 80. Brill played 14 through 18 even par to finish tied with Miller and Boyd at 8-over 80.
The three players headed to the 1st tee for sudden death. Brill, Boyd, and Miller all made pars on the opening playoff hole. The 2nd decided it. Boyd’s tee shot came up short in the bunker while Brill and Miller found the green. Boyd hit his bunker shot thin, leaving it in the sand. He got out on his third and faced a bogey putt. Brill two-putted for par. Miller left his first putt short and missed the next attempt, giving Brill his first APT Tour victory.
Division 5
Cogburn Claims Third Win of the Season
Nine players teed off chasing the trophy and prize fund. Jared Cogburn stumbled to 5-over through four holes but steadied with five straight pars to turn in 5-over 41, two ahead of the field. Myron Jefferson of the Denver APT Chapter posted 43 on the front. Another stroke back at 44 stood Kade Hileman and Max Flowers. Hileman and Flowers both shot 43 on the back nine. Jefferson carded 44 coming in. All three finished with matching 87s to tie for second. Cogburn protected his two-shot lead by matching the division’s best back-nine score of 43, finishing at 12-over 84 for his third victory of the season.
