2026 POR Heron Lakes Blue Course Results 

Daniel Davis Wins Big at Elevated Tournament 

July 25^th will be a day Daniel Davis is going to remember for some time after capturing both the Division 4 and Senior Net Championships at Heron Lakes Great Blue Course. The elevated tournament took place just north of downtown Portland on a beautiful day where the only real challenges were the ones presented by the course itself. 

If there was ever a course deserving the name Heron Lakes, this is it. The Robert Trent Jones Jr. layout, host of the 2000 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship, features water on all but four holes, forcing golfers to navigate hazard after hazard. 

While tee shots and approaches offered clear “safe” routes from point A to point B, golfers willing to take aggressive lines around curved holes and over water were rewarded with green-light scoring opportunities. 

With more than $1,200 up for grabs, bold play was exactly what was needed to come out on top during a day filled with tightly contested battles.

Division Breakdown 

Noah Neuschwanger got off to a hot start, playing the opening six holes at 1-under before going on to capture the Division 1 title with a +7, 79, earning 150 Player of the Year points.  

Division 2 was a battle until the very end, with every player in the flight finishing within three strokes of one another. In the end, Cory Dobak emerged from the pack with a +12, 84. He made the turn one shot back, but a steady 5-over 41 on the back nine, the best nine-hole score in the division, was enough to secure the win. 

Despite a late push from Jason Moys, Daniel Woodward took care of business in Division 3 with a +13, 85. Woodward came out firing, playing his first five holes at even par, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 4^th that also earned him a closest to the pin win. Moys did his best to chip away at Woodward’s five-shot lead after the turn, but a triple bogey on the final hole sealed a three-shot victory for Woodward. 

It was Daniel Davis’ day from start to finish. He made 11 pars on his way to a +13, 85 and a three-shot victory in Division 4. Davis made the turn tied with John Moyle before turning on the jets down the stretch, making six pars on the back nine. The two remained tied through 15 holes, but Davis closed strong with two pars on the last three to pull away for the win. 

Division 5 brought us the most dominant performance of the day as Brian Anderson shot a +21, 93, defeating the second and third-place finishers by 22 and 24 shots, respectively. Anderson also produced the shot of the day, holing out from 151 yards with a 9-iron for eagle on the 9th hole. The ball soared through the air, gently landing on the top of the two tiered green, bounced twice and just like a perfectly paced putt, took the slope of tier and gently rolled directly into the cup. 

Marcus Lowe came up six shots short in Division 4, but a net +3, 75 was enough to capture the Mid-Amateur Net title. Helped in a major way by five straight net birdies over his first five holes, Lowe added two more on the back nine to finish two strokes ahead of Domingo Hernandez. 

Mama, there goes that man! Daniel Davis finished atop the Senior Net Division leaderboard with a net even-par 72. He spread his birdies throughout the round, making two on the front nine and two on the back while playing his closing seven holes at 2-under. Six players finished within five shots, including Daniel Woodward and Brian Anderson, who tied for second, two strokes behind.

There was plenty of prize money to go around during the elevated tournament, with six players each earning more than $100 across their divisional performance and skins: 

• Daniel Davis – $280 (Division 4 Champion, Senior Net Division Champion, 1 Skin) 

• Daniel Woodward – $147.50 (Division 3 Champion, Senior Net Division Runner-Up, Closest to the Pin – Hole 4) 

• Brian Anderson – $141.50 (Division 5 Champion, Senior Net Division Runner-Up, 1 Skin, 1 Super Skin) 

• Marcus Lowe – $115 (Mid-Amateur NET Division Champion) 

• Cory Dobak – $112 (Division 2 Champion, 1 Skin, 1 Super Skin) 

• John Moyle – $104 (Division 4 Runner-Up, 1 Skin, 1 Super Skin) 

Best of the Day 

• When Brian Anderson holed out for eagle on the par-4 9^th hole from 151 yards, it converted to a net-albatross/ace in the Senior Net Division. 

• Every player in Division 2 made a birdie on the front nine, highlighted by Benjamin Ciobanu’s birdie on the number one handicap 2^nd hole. 

• Aziz Baessa was the only player in Division 5 to record a par breaker, making birdie on the par-3 6^th hole.
