Hayden West Headlines Strong Performances at Utah Lake View Open

The Utah Chapter made its way to TalonsCove Golf Club for the Lake View Open, where players were greeted by one of the state’s most recognizable championship layouts along the shores of Utah Lake. With generous landing areas giving way to demanding approach shots and fast greens, TalonsCove rewarded players who combined aggressive scoring with consistent execution.

When play concluded, seven champions were crowned across the gross and net divisions.

Hayden West delivered the round of the day in Division 1, firing a 3-under 69 to finish as the only player under par. West separated himself from the field early and never looked back, earning a four-shot victory over Andrew Echard, who finished at 1-over 73. Coby Duffin rounded out the top three with a 74, while Dakota Murdock and Brandon Christensen completed the top five.

Division 2 featured another impressive performance as Jacob Warren carded an even-par 72 to capture the title. Warren was one of only two players in the division to finish within a shot of par, holding off Dane Nielsen by a single stroke. Mathew Ruybal finished third after posting a 75, with Russell Miner close behind at 76.

Kenneth Chapman earned Division 3 honors after a steady 4-over 76. Chapman finished one stroke ahead of Gary Hamblin, while Kalani Sanborn claimed third with a 78. Troy Hill and Michael Turney shared fourth after matching rounds of 79, highlighting one of the day’s closest leaderboards.

Division 4 belonged to Shiv Kumar Subramaniam, who posted a 3-over 75 to earn a two-shot victory. Trandon Harvey finished second with a 77, while Chance Noyes and Alan McGraw tied for third after each carded 81s. The win added another strong performance to an already consistent season for Subramaniam.

Division 5 saw Julian Le capture the championship after carding a 14-over 86. Eric Scoonover finished one stroke behind in second, while Joshua Madden claimed third with an 88. Bret Strong and Tyler Jensen shared fourth after matching 89s.

The Mid-Am Net division produced some exceptional scoring, led by Shiv Kumar Subramaniam’s outstanding net 63 (-9), the lowest net round of the tournament. Trandon Harvey followed closely with a net 64 (-8), while Chance Noyes finished third after posting a 68. Kenneth Chapman finished fourth at 69, and a four-way tie at 70 rounded out a competitive leaderboard.

Senior Net featured another impressive display of scoring as Alan McGraw posted a net 67 (-5) to earn the championship. Gary Hamblin, Kenneth Desaussure, and Nathan Perschon all shared second after matching net 69s, while Ben Reaves rounded out the top five with a net 70.

Congratulations to all of the Lake View Open champions and thank you to everyone who competed at TalonsCove Golf Club. As the Utah Chapter moves deeper into the second half of the season, every event continues to carry added importance in the Player of the Year race, with valuable points becoming harder to earn as the schedule winds toward its conclusion.
