Scheck, Young, Bossaller, Telander and Eberlein Take Titles at Far Oaks
The St. Louis chapter continued its summer schedule Sunday at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Illinois, with another full day of competition and valuable Autohaus BMW Player of the Year points on the line.
While five division champions ultimately emerged, several of the day’s biggest stories extended well beyond a single leaderboard. Jon Bossaller broke through for his first victory of the season by denying Tim Leonberger a chance at back-to-back wins, Matt Telander delivered a career day across two leaderboards, and Roger Eberlein added yet another victory to what has become a dominant 2026 campaign.
Division 1 — Schenck Goes Under Par
Caleb Schenck delivered the low gross round of the day, firing a 2-under 70 to claim the Division 1 title by four shots.
Neil Ghanti finished runner-up with a 74, while Marco Tallerico rounded out the top three with a 77. Colin Hall followed with an 80 as Scheck separated himself from the field and secured another strong result in St. Louis competition.
Division 2 — Young Holds Off a Crowded Leaderboard
Taylor Young came out on top of a tightly packed Division 2 leaderboard, posting a 1-over 73 to earn the victory.
There was little room for error behind him. Bob Manville and Jason Ulrich each finished just one shot back at 74, while Billy Davis posted a 76. Zach Bryan, Casey Philpot and Ronald Black all finished at 77 as seven players ended the day within four shots of the lead.
Young’s 73 proved to be just enough to separate himself from the pack and leave Far Oaks with the Division 2 title.
Division 3 — Bossaller Breaks Through, Denies Leonberger Back-to-Back Wins
Division 3 provided the day’s biggest finish.
Jon Bossaller and Tim Leonberger each posted 4-over 76, forcing the championship into a playoff. Both players made five on the opening playoff hole before Bossaller finally gained the advantage on the second, securing the victory when Leonberger made six.
The win marked Bossaller’s first victory of the 2026 season after knocking on the door throughout the year. He entered Far Oaks with six Top 10 finishes in 10 St. Louis starts, including a runner-up and a third-place finish, and sat seventh in the Autohaus BMW Division 3 Player of the Year standings.
For Leonberger, the runner-up finish came one event after his victory at WingHaven Country Club, putting him within one playoff hole of capturing back-to-back St. Louis titles.
Tony Quartuccio was right behind the playoff at 77, finishing third.
Division 4 — A Career Day for Telander
Matt Telander didn’t simply earn his first victory of the season at Far Oaks — he put together one of the biggest performances of his APT career.
Telander fired a 5-over 77 to win Division 4 by two shots over Norm Toon, who finished at 79. Darrick Kimberlin and Sam Loring tied for third with rounds of 82.
The victory represented a major breakthrough for Telander. He entered Far Oaks with six Top 10 finishes in 10 St. Louis Division 4 starts but had yet to record a top-three finish this season.
His day became even more impressive when the Senior Net results were calculated.
Telander posted a 9-under net 63 to run away with the Senior Net title by four shots over Tim Leonberger. After entering the tournament with just one Senior Net Top 10 this season, Telander left Far Oaks with victories on two leaderboards and a career day to remember.
Division 5 — Eberlein’s Dominant Season Continues
At this point, Roger Eberlein winning in St. Louis is becoming a familiar sight.
Eberlein posted an 86 to take the Division 5 title by three shots over Brett Schubert and add another victory to an already remarkable 2026 campaign.
The Far Oaks title marked Eberlein’s seventh victory in 10 St. Louis Division 5 starts this season. Even more impressive, he has finished first or second in nine of those 10 events and has yet to finish outside the Top 10.
That consistency has Eberlein firmly atop the Autohaus BMW Division 5 Player of the Year standings, but his success has stretched well beyond the local schedule. He has eight Division 5 victories in 14 starts nationally, sits third in the National Division 5 standings and currently leads the Golf with Jay Delsing Series Division 5 standings.
With the season moving toward its closing stretch, Eberlein continues to build one of the strongest campaigns in the St. Louis chapter.
Mid-Am Net — Droce Takes the Top Spot
Selena Droce put together a strong performance of her own, posting a 5-under net 67 to capture the Mid-Am Net title.
Bossaller nearly added a second victory to his day, finishing one shot back at 4-under 68, while Tracy Behrle finished third with a 3-under 69. Tony Quartuccio followed at 2-under 70.
Senior Net — Telander Completes the Sweep
Telander’s career day carried over to the Senior Net competition, where his 9-under 63 created some separation at the top of the leaderboard.
Leonberger finished second at 5-under 67, adding another strong result to his Division 3 runner-up finish. Jason Ulrich followed at 4-under 68, while Matt Hall, Steve Tripi and Bob Manville tied at 2-under 70.
For Telander, however, Far Oaks belonged to him. A Division 4 victory and Senior Net title turned one round into a career day and one of the standout performances of the St. Louis season.
The POY Race Rolls On
With another event in the books, the Autohaus BMW Player of the Year races continue to take shape as the St. Louis schedule moves deeper into the summer.
Far Oaks brought a little bit of everything: a playoff, a first-time winner this season, a near back-to-back champion, a career performance and another win from one of the chapter’s most dominant players.
Next up, the St. Louis chapter spends today at Dalhousie Golf Club for another stop in the Golf with Jay Delsing Series and another opportunity to earn valuable points as the 2026 season continues.
