2026 TRIAD Tanglewood CC Champs

We had 58 players competing at Tanglewood Champs where the 1972 PGA championship was held during PGA week in 2026. The players were invited with early summer-like conditions for the weather in the low 80’s. The course was in decent shape considering the lack of rain in the NC area and if you are in the Winston Salem area, it’s a must play. 

In Division 1, we had a great race throughout the round but in the end one player emerged victorious by 2 shots over the field.  Leader Will Morgan played an impressive back nine to get back in contention with a round of 77(+7).

 In Division 2 we had another solid performance from Morrisville’s Scott Nichols. Nichols carded a 71(+1) to win by 3 shots for his 2^nd straight win over Mr. Showtime McMillan. McMillan takes runner up with a 74(+4). In 3^rd place was Travis Warluft with a round of 75(+5).

In Division 3 we had a local player Jason Smith card one of the hottest rounds of the day with an 80(+10) to win by 3 shots over Derek Marley and Micheal Fitzgerald pair of 83(+13). Smith played so well he also won the Senior Net contest with a round 64(-6).

In Division 4 we were treated with the hottest round of the day by Timothy Leung with a round of 78(+8) to win by 1 shot over Joey Fyall. Leung round was also good enough to secure 2^nd place in Senior Net. And the Fyall round was also gifted with the Mid AM victory. Rounding out the Top 3 was a tie between Jason Upright and Dakota Justice.

In Division 5 we had 7 players competing for the title at Tanglewood Champs. It was Joe Hill of Charlotte, NC with a score of 90(+20) to start the season off with a 2 shot victory over Billy Jones 92(+22).
