A rainy morning gave way to sunny skies and low, low scores at Pendleton Golf Club. Birdies and Eagles were flying with great playing conditions. In Division 1, first timer and playing as guest, Kurtis Lucas blistered his first trip around Pendleton with 6 Birdies, an Eagle, sandwiched between a Double and a Quad. His victory converted him to become a fulltime member with APT.
CJ Szuba finished birdie-birdie to snatch a one stroke victory over Joe Bautista. CJ had 4 birdies on the day and Joe had 3.
Thomas Porter shot an all-time career low of 74. After shooting 41 on the front 9, Thomas had an Eagle and 2 Birdies on the back 9 to shoot a 3-under 33 and win Division 3 by 3 Shots. Ian Thomas finished 2nd and AC Rendon third.
David Ponder squeaked out a one shot victory (87) over Buddy Herndon in Division 4.
Jimmie Williams captured a one shot victory (89) over Tommy Jackson.
AC Rendon captured the Mid Am Net Championship with a Net 67 to win by 3 over CJ Szuba. Backed by his career low, Thomas Porter shot a Net 60 (-12) to win by 7 shots over Ian Thomas (Net 67). Shane Studer took 3rd (Net 69) and Jim Pritchett finished in the money with a Net 70.

Virginia Capital has two – One Day events on June 27th and June 28th. June 27th is at Hobbs Hole in Tappahannock, Virginia and June 28th is at Mattaponi Springs Golf Club in Ruther Glen, Virginia. Hobbs Hole is a 9am tee time start. Mattaponi Springs is a 9am Shotgun Start. DEADLINE is this coming MONDAY (June 22 at MIDNIGHT)
Last 2 day ELEVATED EVENT of the season is at Golden Horseshoe in Williamsburg, VA on July 11-12. It’s the ANNUAL – JOHN’s BIRTHDAY BASH. It will be my 62nd trip around the sun and truly hope you can share the weekend with Melissa and I. We will be playing the Green and Gold Courses with a shotgun start of 9:30 both days. Great weekend to bring the family with plenty of time left in the day to visit Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country USA or Busch Gardens. DEADLINE: JULY 3 at MIDNIGHT
