The day started off cloudy with some sprinkles off and on throughout the day.  Despite that, everyone seemed to have a GREAT time!  Highlights of the day included:

    • Division 1: D1 started off their first nine with Kipper House taking the early lead, firing an even par 36.  Just 2 shots back were Robert Greene, Chase Bertrand, and Dan Madsen, with Piersen Gill lurking just 3 shots back.  On their second nine, Greene fired a sizzling -1 (35), but it was not enough to catch House who fired his own -2 (34) to cruise to a 3-shot victory
    • Division 2: This one was exciting the whole way!  On their first nine, Rocky took a 2-shot lead over Nick Westbrook and 3 over Greg Deptula and Adam Kara with a strong +1 (37)!  Deptula fired a +1 (37) on his second nine, Westbrook remained steady with a +2 (38), and Rocky slipped a bit with a +4 that included an untimely double on the last hole!  The three marched back to the first hole, a shorter Par 5, for the playoff.  Westbrook reached the green in 2 and sunk the eagle putt for the comeback win!
    • Division 3: On the first nine for this group, Joe Gregory jumped out to a 5-shot lead over Mike Steele and Rick Kaczmarczyk.  On their second nine, Steele was 4 shots better, but not enough to catch Gregory who won in his second event on the tour!
    • Division 4: This group had several VERY strong scores!  On the front nine, John Moore jumped to the early lead by 1 over John Oursler and 2 over Andy Halek and the race was on!  On the back, Jay Shockey put the pedal down and fired a +2 (38) for an 81!  Not to be outdone, Josh Hull threw down his own +3 (39) on the back to match Shockey at 81! Oursler remained consistent on the back throwing in yet another 81!  However, John Moore held them all off, firing an impressive 79 and earning himself the win and a move up to D3 next tournament!
    • Division 5: This one was a tale of two nines!  On the front, Rusty Lingenfelter jumped out to a 1-shot lead over David Schultz and 2 over Jackie Rush.  On the back, we had a different trio emerge!  Mike Bushee and Rick Gill would improve significantly on their back nines and both card +22 (94).  However, like Secretariat running down the backstretch, Jeromy Sigler flew up the leaderboard with a +3 39 on the back and took the win!  What a comeback!
    • Mid-Am Net: There were 7 players in the Mid-Am Net event this week, with Chris Scott taking an early 3-shot lead on the front with a sizzling -2 (34) over Hosh Hull, Nick Westbrook, and Gage Basiletti.  However, on the back nine, Jeromy Sigler shot up the leaderboard to the top with a very impressive -9 (27) on the back!  WOW!
    • Senior Net: There were 17 players in the Senior Net game, so we were able to pay out 3 places. On the front nine, John Moore and John Oursler both fired -2 (34) and only had a 1-shot lead on Andy Halek and Rusty Lingenfelter, and 2 on Mike Steele and Jackie Rush!  Oursler and Moore remained consistently strong, and both fired -1 (35 on the back to tie for first with 69! Taking home the trophy was Oursler based on the best last 6 holes tiebreaker!  Tying for third were Steel and Halek at +3 (75)

A huge thank you goes out to Bruce Harris, and Levi Long and the entire staff at Herons Glen Golf & Country Club for having the course in such excellent condition.

Our next event is at Plantation Golf & Country Club on the Bobcat course in Venice, and it will be on Sunday, May 17.  Remember, the more players we get, the bigger the payouts!  Sign up now for your spot to play!  Registration closes on May 12!
