Tournament Champions
Competitors on the Charleston Amateur Players Tour were treated to one of the Lowcountry’s “hidden gems” this past weekend as the tour hosted its tournament at Charleston National.
Nestled in Mount Pleasant, Charleston National Golf Club offers a premier Lowcountry golf experience on a layout crafted by acclaimed architect Rees Jones. Widely regarded as one of the Charleston area’s top public-access courses, Charleston National has earned praise from Golf Digest as the top non-resort course in the Lowcountry.
Winding alongside the Intracoastal Waterway, the course weaves through scenic wetlands, tranquil lagoons, and towering stands of pine and oak, creating a championship layout that pairs challenge with some of the most picturesque views along the South Carolina coast.
Originally envisioned as an exclusive private club modeled after the prestige of Augusta National, Charleston National was designed with the goal of becoming one of the finest courses on the coast. While it now operates as a semi-private facility open to the public, it has maintained that upscale feel and has become known by many as one of the Lowcountry’s true “hidden gems.”
The Charleston Amateur Players tour travels the Lowcountry of South Carolina, offering golfers of all skill levels a chance to compete in one of five different divisions. The tour also features Mid-Am and Senior net divisions along with an optional cash skins game. Division winners are awarded cash and VISA gift card prizes each tournament. Designed by the players, for the players, the Charleston Amateur Players Tour strives to create a world-class golfing experience for its competitors.
