Lake Michigan Hills Tournament Recap
Mother Nature provided an extra challenge at Lake Michigan Hills as nearly two inches of rain fell overnight, leaving players to navigate wet fairways and soft conditions throughout the day. Despite the soggy course, several competitors rose to the occasion and posted impressive rounds.
In Division 1, Cassidy Jackson continued his outstanding season, capturing the victory and further extending his lead in the Player of the Year race.
Division 2 was claimed by multi-time winner Matt Steensma, who added another trophy to his growing collection with a steady performance.
The low round of the day belonged to Kyle Kucharski, visiting from Memphis, who topped Division 3 with an impressive score and showed why he was a contender from the opening tee shot.
Division 4 honors went to Randy Guminski, while Division 5 was won by another multiple-time champion, Jack Huminsky.
One of the highlights of the day came in the Mid-Am Net competition, which required a playoff to determine a winner. After matching scores in regulation, Kyle Kucharski and Tyler Fielding headed back out to settle the title. On the playoff hole, Fielding delivered the shot of the day, knocking a 156-yard approach to just three feet from the pin before calmly converting the birdie putt to secure the Mid-Am Net championship.
Congratulations to all of our division winners and competitors who battled through the challenging conditions at Lake Michigan Hills.
A huge thank you goes out to Andy and his team at Lake Michigan Hills. From the grounds crew that worked tirelessly to get the course ready for play after the overnight rain, to the staff inside the clubhouse and at the cart barn who were always there to lend a helping hand, their efforts played a major role in making the event a success. We greatly appreciate their hospitality and dedication throughout the day.
