Tournament Champions
Playoffs were the theme of the day as the Charleston Amateur Players Tour made the trip to Bluffton, SC this past weekend for its tournament at Island West Golf Club. Three of the tour’s five divisions ended in a playoff, as the competitors were treated to the course designed by PGA Tour legend Fuzzy Zoeller.
Tucked among the moss-draped oaks and tidal marshes of Bluffton, Island West Golf Club offers a Lowcountry layout that blends natural beauty with a thoughtful, player-friendly design. Originally crafted by Zoeller and Clyde Johnston, the course takes full advantage of its coastal setting, with winding fairways framed by towering pines and live oaks that demand both accuracy and strategy off the tee.
The course features a mix of risk-reward opportunities and more demanding stretches, rewarding players who can manage their way around rather than overpower it. Its design allows for multiple sets of tees, making it approachable for a wide range of skill levels without sacrificing its competitive edge.
The Charleston Amatuer Players Tour travels the Lowcountry of South Carolina offering golfers of all skill levels a chance to compete in one of five different divisions. The tour also features mid-am and senior net divisions as well, giving competitors multiple chances to win. Division winners are awarded cash and VISA gift card prizes each tournament, as the tour also offers an optional cash skins game.
