Columbus & Cincinnati/Dayton Tours Recap – Urbana Country Club
The Columbus and Cincinnati/Dayton Tours held a one-day event on Saturday, April 25th, at the beautiful Urbana Country Club in Urbana, Ohio — known as “The Original Dye Course.”
A total of 56 competitors teed it up on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and Urbana once again delivered a fantastic tournament setting.
Division 1 – Field of 8
Dustin Fields continues to love Urbana Country Club. After winning the first fall event of the year back in October, he duplicated that success on Saturday by firing a 4-under-par round to capture the Division 1 title. Adam Black finished 2nd at even par, while RJ Foltz took 3rd at +1.
Division 2 – Field of 6
Blake Smith picked up his second Tour victory of the year with a round of 78. Smith held off Jason Fischer by one shot, while Michael Marinangeli finished 3rd, just two shots back.
Division 3 – Field of 20
Tim Jameson also earned his second Tour victory of the year, posting a round of 80. Jameson finished two shots ahead of a 2nd-place tie between Kasey Dickenson and Bradley Secrest.
Division 4 – Field of 12
Chris Berry picked up his second Tour victory of the year with a round of 86, holding on for a one-shot win over Bill Keyes. Tim Jenkins and Steve Smith finished in a tie for 3rd.
Division 5 – Field of 10
Doc Sherman captured his 3rd Tour victory of the year with a round of 93, finishing three shots better than Kevin Forwith and Quintin Jessee.
Mid-Am Net – Field of 10
Chris Berry double-dipped on the day, taking home the Mid-Am Net title. Kurt Schmidt finished 2nd, and Zach Walker rounded out the top three.
Senior Net
At 85 years old, John Savard delivered a tremendous performance, winning Senior Net by one shot over Bill Keyes and four shots better than Doc Sherman and Steve Smith.
Both Danny Bay and Kasey Dickenson would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Bill Unger, the staff, and the members of Urbana Country Club. The course was in fantastic shape, and the hospitality, as always, was second to none.
A huge thank-you as well to all the players who came out to compete.
The APT truly lives by its motto:
