The Amateur Players Tour Columbus Chapter returned to action on Monday, July 13, 2026, as 41 golfers battled temperatures in the upper 80s at the beautiful Heritage Golf Club in Hilliard, Ohio.
Established in 1994, Heritage Golf Club was designed by legendary architect P.B. Dye in the famous Dye tradition of illusion and deception. The layout features undulating bent grass greens, signature railroad ties, sparkling lakes, winding fairways, and towering trees, making it one of Central Ohio’s premier private golf experiences. The course was presented in outstanding condition and received rave reviews from the competitors.
Division Champions
Division 1
Jack Cyrus (Jackson, OH) continued his remarkable start to the season, completing the trifecta with three Amateur Players Tour events and three victories.
Division 2
Jason Fisher (Chillicothe, OH) held off a late charge to capture a one-shot victory over Kento Kimura (Dublin, OH) and Michael Marinangeli (Grove City, OH).
Division 3
Making the trip from Prior Lake, Minnesota, Geoffrey Zahn proved the flight was well worth it. Zahn took the lead early and never looked back, earning a three-shot victory over David Yoder (Millersburg, OH). Greg Weaver (Plain City, OH) finished just four shots behind the champion.
Division 4
Division 4 featured one of the most exciting battles of the day, with five different players holding the lead at various points during the round. In the end, Johnny Sherman (Ashville, OH) pulled away for a three-shot victory over Danny Bay (Lancaster, OH). Van Rome (Canal Winchester, OH) and Chris Berry finished just one shot behind Bay.
Division 5
The closest finish of the tournament came in Division 5, where Quintin Jessee (Hilliard, OH) and Tyler Philo (Beavercreek, OH)—the current Cincinnati/Dayton Chapter Player of the Year points leader—finished tied and headed to a scorecard playoff. Jessee claimed his first Amateur Players Tour victory, winning on the better back nine. David Fisher (Dayton, OH), Ryan Darling (Pataskala, OH), and Aaron Holman (Newark, OH) tied for third place.
Net Division Results
Mid-Am Net saw Johnny Sherman complete the double dip, taking home both the championship trophy and prize money. Tyler Philo finished second, followed by Chris Berry (Carroll, OH) in third.
In Senior Net, Quintin Jessee added another trophy to his day by capturing the championship over Danny Bay and Michael Marinangeli.
Danny and Kasey would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff at Heritage Golf Club for their outstanding hospitality. The course was in absolutely perfect condition, providing a tremendous experience for every player in the field.
