Sultan’s Run Golf Club – Jasper, Indiana

The Indianapolis Amateur Players Tour made the trip to beautiful Southern Indiana for one of the premier stops on the schedule at Sultan’s Run Golf Club in Jasper. Nestled among more than 300 rolling acres of woods, water, and wildlife, Sultan’s Run once again proved why it is considered one of Indiana’s top public golf destinations. Designed by Tim Liddy, the Pete Dye protégé, the course features immaculate zoysia fairways, pristine bentgrass greens, dramatic elevation changes, and the unforgettable signature 18th hole with its stunning waterfall finish.

Cloudy skies provided comfortable playing conditions, but Sultan’s Run still demanded precision from every player as competitors from across the country battled for trophies and valuable Player of the Year points.

Division 1 featured another impressive performance from Indianapolis Chapter Player of the Year points leader Barney Sutley, who continued his outstanding season by firing a 3-over par 75 to capture another victory. Garrett would prevail on the first playoff hole to earn the championship trophy. James Heath of the Indianapolis Chapter finished just one stroke behind with a 7-over par 79, while Andre Banks of the Charlotte Chapter claimed third with a 9-over par 81

Division 4 also needed sudden death as Chris Huge of the Myrtle Beach Chapter and Travis Glenn of the Utah Chapter each finished regulation at 15-over par 87. Huge outlasted Glenn on the first playoff hole to take the trophy back to the beach. James Plaire of the Las Vegas Chapter narrowly missed the playoff after posting 16-over par 88 to finish third.
