THANK YOU to Scott and the Cherry Oaks staff! The course was truly in amazing shape! One of those “hidden gems” just outside of Wichita. Greens were rolling fast, fairways in amazing condition and it was a beautiful day ! Thank you to all the players that came out and supported the event.
D1 – In D1 we saw Kipp Jones fire a great -3, 69 finish to take the top spot in D1. Overall very solid golf by Kipp shooting 5 birdies on the day! Zach Eck was the closest to the top spot at a solid +3, 75.
D2 – Paco Martinez played a very solid consistent round with a +7, 79. 39 Front and 40 on the back solidified his victory! Jason Dodd couldn’t quite chase him down after shooting a 42 on the front, he finished the back 9 with a 40.
D3 – Austin Uffendell gets the victory again! +7, 79 and going with a 38 on the back 9. Really not showing any idea of slowing down. We will pay attention to Wednesdays “Moving Day” and see if he makes the cut and will be promoted to D2. He edged out Johnny Governski (our Mid-AM Champ for the event) who shot an 80!
D4 – Kelly McDowell couldn’t take home the trophy but was quick to mention that Tracy Hanback will be bringing it back to Abilene, KS! Congrats to Tracy on his first win of the season! Ending with a +9, 81, Tracy was very steady with only 4 bogeys in his last 14 holes.
D5 – Our lightest division of the weekend saw two competitors going at it and Erik Hopper prevailed. Breaking his practice round score of 99 and finishing with a 97. Was great to see Erik and Tanner going neck and neck all weekend.
