Monday After the Major at Gateway National Delivers Strong Field and Tight Competition
Following the Homecoming Major weekend at Annbriar Golf Course, players from across the country stayed in the St. Louis area for the annual Monday After the Major at Gateway National Golf Links on June 15. With sunny skies, mild temperatures, and just enough wind to challenge players throughout the day, Gateway National once again provided a memorable test against the backdrop of the downtown St. Louis skyline.
The field featured a mix of St. Louis chapter regulars and visiting competitors from around the APT, creating strong competition across every division.
In Division 1, Memphis native Edward McDugle claimed the victory with a 1-over 72, edging out St. Louis Player of the Year leader John Todd by a single stroke. Todd’s runner-up finish continues an impressive season for the Wright City player, who maintains his lead in the Autohaus BMW Player of the Year standings as the summer stretch of the schedule heats up. Chad Crawford rounded out the top three with a 7-over 78.
Division 2 continued to showcase one of the tightest races in the St. Louis chapter. David Adams earned the victory with a 3-over 74, while current Autohaus BMW Player of the Year leader Michael Lingenfelter finished sixth at 9-over 80. Just behind him, Todd Feuerhaken posted a 10-over 81 to finish tied for seventh, keeping the pressure on as fewer than 60 points separate the two players atop the Division 2 standings.
Division 3 produced a tie at the top as Mike Paubel and Steven Beckstead each carded rounds of 10-over 81 to share medalist honors. St. Louis standout Gerald Harsley added another solid finish with a tie for sixth at 13-over 84, continuing his strong season as he chases Dustin Hunter in the Division 3 Autohaus BMW Player of the Year race.
James Plaire captured the Division 4 title with an 81, while Mark Smith claimed Division 5 honors with an 85.
In the net competitions, Kurt Seib earned the Mid-Am Net title with a 3-under 68, while David Adams added a second victory to his day by claiming Senior Net honors at 4-under 67. Lingenfelter’s strong 2026 campaign extends beyond Division 2, as he also continues to lead the St. Louis Senior Net Player of the Year standings.
With valuable Autohaus BMW Player of the Year points on the line and several close races developing across the chapter, the battle for season-long honors continues to intensify as the St. Louis schedule moves deeper into the summer months.
